Networks,
LAN & WAN:
Have you considered upgrading your old NT
Network? Are your client workstations still running Windows 98? We can help migrate
your system into the 21st century and give you all the latest benefits
and
features that the Windows Server Family has to offer. Additionally,
we can help
maintain that system either on site or remotely to help save time and
money, whichever you prefer.
We have several affordable plans to meet your needs.
Here's just some of the New Windows
2000 - 2003 Features:
- Active Directory - A scalable
centralized directory service that simplifies administration and
makes it easier for users to find resources. Built from the ground
up with Internet-standard technologies.
- SharedPoint -
A collaborative central point for
Announcements, projects, surveys, shared documents, help desk,
discussions, archives, presentations and faxes. All over web based
Intranet.
- Shadow Copy -
Allows users the ability to recall
previous file versions without calling the IT department to perform
a restore from a backup, very nice...
- Certificate Services - Deploy your own
PKI (Public Key Infrastructure). Implement standards-based
technologies such as smart card logon capabilities, client
authentication through SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) and TLS (Transport
Layer Security), secure e-mail, digital signatures, and secure
connectivity using Internet Protocol Security.
- Disk quota support - Monitor and limit
the amount of space available to users, more efficient use of
company resources. Defines responses to users that approach or
exceed your specified thresholds.
- Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)
- Works with DNS (Domain Name Service) and Active Directory Service
to provide up-to-date IP addressing which can be replicated among
all Domain Controllers in a truly multi-master environment.
- Encrypting File System (EFS) - A new
level of protection for your data. EFS runs as an integrated system
service, making it easy to manage, difficult to attack, and
transparent to the user.
- Group Policy Object (GPO) - Policies
can now be defined at the site level, domain level, OU and child OU
levels through Active Directory. Policy based management simplifies
such tasks as operating system updates, application installations,
user profiles, and desktop-system lock down.
- Internet Authentication Service (IAS)
- Provides a central point for managing authentication,
authorization, accounting, and auditing of dial-in or VPN (Virtual
Private Network) users.
- Internet Information Service (IIS) -
Supports an unlimited number of Intranet, Extranet and Internet
web-based applications. Includes ASP (Active Server Pages) and other
features.
- Internet Security (IPSEC) - The new
standard for secure communication over TCP/IP. Supports powerful
filtering capabilities, authentication types, and encryption
methods.
- Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) - A
more secure version of Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP).
Used for tunneling, address assigning, and authentication.
- Network Address Translation (NAT) -
Hides internally managed IP addresses from external networks by
translating private internal addresses to public external addresses,
reducing IP registration costs. Also by hiding the internal network
structure this reduces the risk of attacks against internal systems.
- Routing and Remote Access Service (RRAS)
- 2000 combines these services into a single integrated system that
manages remote users, and provides routing (IP, IPX, and AppleTalk)
capabilities. Function as a VPN server, a gateway server, or a
branch office router.
- Terminal Services - Can provide users
with the ability to access applications over the TS server or
provide administrators with the ability to remotely administer their
networks from virtually any machine or location.
- Roaming profiles - Thanks to the suite
of IntelleMirror technologies you can now take your profile and
programs with you, from anywhere you logon. You are no longer
limited by boundaries and geography.
- Kerberos - Authorization,
Authentication and Ticket Granting Ticket Services. Providing
greater security and more efficient SSO (Single Sign On)
capabilities while significantly reducing the threat from
modalities. Microsoft V5 has brought this protocol to a whole new
level. Note: When in mixed mode Windows 2000 still provides support
for NTLM.
There are many many more benefits and features
to Windows AD all which add up to more capabilities combined with
simplified administration equaling lower TCO (Total Cost of
Ownership.)
